Hangover VII

(...pls refer to the previous posts for initial part)

"No Mom, I am not gay. Why you keep asking these silly questions; I will stop calling you from  now on" Mom was at it again, "Toh Puttar ji, why are you not meeting Dolly; she's so pretty. Her mother has called us on dinner again next weekend.  Don't you like pretty girls?". " Maa I like hundreds of pretty girls, so should I marry all of them", I was getting worked up a bit. (BTW Dolly is just like her name - an exaggerated extension of Doll who spends more time in parlour than at her work. She can't digest her food unless she sees some 100 likes on her new DP on Facebook. Daughter of Mom's best friend so qualifies as a best match for me by default) "Yea do that only, at least I will get to see my grandchildren from one of them" she wasn't going to budge.
"Ok, today's match is over and you won, now I am getting late for office, bye god bless", I resorted to the last option and hanged it up. "You should meet Dolly now, who knows she's might be your dream girl " Amit teased me while coming out of bath. "Iss red towel mein toh tu Dolly se kam nhi hai meri jaan" it was my turn now. "Acha... and what about this Dollah" he said while showing his biceps, "Anyways what are your plans for the evening, let's have some DARU Joint". "Seems like Neha is not in the town" I inquired. (Neha btw is Amit's 6 yr old flame who has recently showing signs of becoming a fireball! )
"She's in town but I wanna have little space for myself" Amit was defensive. "Dude, I get it. So she needs space and asked you to F*ck off for some time" maybe being so direct isn't my best quality, "Anyways we will make out in the evening" I hugged him this time. "What" he took it literally I guess. "We will hang out baby, you always misunderstand my feelings". "Chal, see you at Mall road after work", he signed off.

"Give me a bottle of Smirnoff, yea Lime Flavour", the voice from my back sounded familiar. "Hey Latikaaa.... how are you doing....here", I couldn't get the right expression out.

Hangover VI

(...refer to previous posts for earlier part)

“Tu jahan jahan Chalega, mera Saaya saath hoga” the voice of Lata Mangeshwar filled the Conference Hall completely. I had dimmed the lights purposefully to make it sound more divine. Tell you something; had it been any other formal corporate meeting, I might have been hanged for playing songs in the middle of an important meeting, but then a “creative presentation” has its own advantages...
“Nice song, Karan..... but where’s the idea” Mr Chairman interrupted. “Thanks Sir, it’s one of my favourites too. And more importantly it carries the ‘Big idea’........ What is the most basic attribute a customer expects from his network provider? No prizes here; its the uninterrupted network. Our new campaign will highlight and position ‘Vodatel’ as a premium network which is always with you and never fails..” I completed the most important speech for the evening. It was silent for next couple of minutes. I took a glass of water and tried to look convinced all throughout. What followed was a clap from the Chairman and guess what everyone had to just follow. “Brilliant idea, let’s have a 360 campaign on the same”, I had hit the jackpot. “Thanks Sir, I will show you the storyboard soon” it was time to unlock the bow.
“Well done my boy” Mr Bannerjee slapped my butt while I was having lunch. It’s very irritating of him to do so, though it generally means he’s happy. “Anything for you, Sir”, I raised a toast of water. “Don’t be boring Karan. You deserve a Champaign today”. “I know Sir, but I will skip it. I can still feel yesterday’s hangover”, it again reminded me of Latika. “Hey Karan, what a pitch man; I am impressed” Maya gave me that look while putting her hand on my shoulder. “Ahem, I will excuse you guys” Mr Bannerjee was at it again. “Thanks Maya, it was a team effort though..” I was modest this time. “That’s so sweet of you to say that” she almost hugged me. (btw Maya is my colleague. She’s around 28, few extra pounds, nice features, claims to be single, very moody but somehow always kind to me).
“Well if you keep encouraging me like this, maybe few more accounts will be in” I was in mood of some fun now. “You naughty boy... So where’s the party now. It calls for celebration” she wouldn’t let it pass. “Hmmm....let’s plan around the weekend”

Hangover V

(...refer to previous posts for initial part)

“Karan, I wanted to meet you ever since our last meeting...” she said while giving a shy smile. “Really....” I asked while playing with her long tresses. “I missed you too..Latika”, I whispered in her ears. I could smell her beautiful hair. “I wanted to say a lot of things that night but somehow couldn’t”, just remembered her Rambo brother for a moment. “I wanna confess you something”, she was upto something. “I am listening....” I knew what she wanted to say.
“Saale hosh mein aa”, her voice almost changed suddenly. “What....” I wasn’t expecting this. “Romeo ke pote....its 9.30 already, I am leaving for office..” now I recognised it finally. “Amit....it’s you...shit yaar”, I said while getting out of bed. “Come out of you dream land, time to romance your boss; Mr Banerjee has already called twice”. “Bastard, only he could spoil my date......tu toh meri jaan hai”, I hugged him tightly. “Leave me alone....don’t complete your dream sequence with me now” he wasn’t in a mood to joke.  “Chal, I am leaving. See you in evening”. “Sure dude...”, I was alive now.
“Hi, how have you been Champ”, Banerjee greeted me as soon as I landed at my work station. “ I am good Sir, just few extra shots last night”, I rewinded the last night in a moment. “Did you get lucky with someone at the party; I saw Maya was making drinks for you”, he winked. “Come on Dada, look at her size. She will lick me up in one go without taking a burp”. “Haha, don’t be harsh to young lady. There are people around who wouldn’t mind getting licked up by her”, he was in no mood to let it go. “I know Boss... who’s leading that pack”, it was time to wink back at him. “Very clever, let’s get down to some work. We gotta meet Vodatel in the evening.” “Yea I know, their new campaign. We will rock it”, I was checking my mails by now.
“Ladies & Gentlemen, Thanks for your invaluable time. We are ready with a new campaign idea. Karan will take you through it”, Mr Banerjee put me on the hot seat as usual. I got up while adjusting my neck bow (I tell you it’s easier to get ready for Marriage than for client meet. Noone got dumped for wearing wrong Shervani ever!). “Good Evening everyone. It’s showtime” I was ready to rock!!

Hangover 4

(...refer to previous posts for initial part)

“Please welcome our next caller......Karan, what do you want to share”. Finally I had a chance to speak, “Love Guru, how can you tell about the feelings for a girl when you meet her for first time”. “Interesting question; it depends on the interaction and the things you like about her. So what did you notice the most in her”. Now that was an easy one, “She was wearing a black T-shirt with written in bold....kindly look up, my eyes are above shoulders; but I couldn’t help somehow...” I was still enjoying in my imagination. “Well, I can understand your feelings. But I am sorry, I could have helped better, had you actually seen in her eyes. Anyways enjoy the next song, especially for you”. “Tu cheez badi hai mast mast....”. Even Love Guru didn’t have the answers of my situation. I still couldn’t understand the problem with my “observation”.  I reached my place at the end of the song, finally...
“Amit......AMITTTT....” I sort of beat the door while looking at my watch. It was almost 1. “Kya hai saale, kaha se aa raha hai muh kala karke” half woken Amit opened the door with greetings. “Kaash yaar, apni aisee kismet kahan” I winked at him while holding him in my arms. “Please spare me, Devdas. I am not your Chandermukhi” it was bad time for joking with him. (Amit by the way is my flatmate: he is 28, 5’10’’, Works in a Bank, goes to gym regularly, has same girl friend since 6 years, loves his family and is an occasional banker to me..) “Ok Sir. Shhhhh.....” I paused while putting finger at my mouth. “How did you get so late, you started 2 hrs ago from the party” he was woken completely now. “Don’t ask yaar, I saved this hot damsel. She insisted me to drop her; you know my heart. Couldn’t say no.” “ So a new chapter has begun. Lage raho..” he found it amusing. “Nothing like that yaar. I was about to ask her contact, Salaa beech mein aa gaya”. “Who came in between...?” he was getting into it slowly. “Her brother....Saala” when you are drunk, you find your own stupid jokes very amusing.
“Ok, enough of you love story, I need to reach office in time tomorrow” he signed off while pushing me in my room.  “Sweet dreams...”. “Don’t worry, I will...” I smiled while closing my eyes.

Hangover III

(...refer to previous posts for initial part)

“I just realized it is a beautiful night” I had come down too, to say goodbye. “Really....is it!” she smirked while looking at sky full of clouds; moon had also slept by now I thought. “I know it is dark, but then real beauty doesn't need the permission of god to dazzle” the scotch was back at play.  “Well, Thanks again. I don’t know how I would have managed without you” she was looking cute while playing with pony tail. “You are embarrassing me. I just saved the poor kid, I thought you were about to kill him”. “That is so mean of you.....” she punched me lightly. I felt like punching back but then my punches are anything but light so I controlled my emotions. “You stay with your family” it was time to come down to business. “Yea....” not the answer I was hoping for. “Good, so who all are there in the family” I was little subtle now. “Me, mom and Bhaiya.......Dad passed two years ago” the smile had gone now. “I am..... Sorry” I thought wrong question. “What does your brother do” I wanted to change the topic. “He is preparing for Mr India next year, into modelling”. “That’s awesome” I said while looking over her shoulder if her bodybuilder brother is coming to say Hi.
“It was nice meeting you Karan” that generally means goodbye. “Same here, LATIKAA” I just wanted to say her name. “It’s small world, I am sure we will get more chances to say thanks to each other” I wanted to ensure that it wasn’t just one night stand (well technically it wasn’t but mere the thought gave me some ideas and a smile..). “Latty....is it you” the loud voice brought me back into reality. It was from 3rd floor I guess. “Yea Bhaayee, just reached...” she looked in hurry. For some reason I didn’t look up but I was in a hurry too now. “Ok Karan, Goodnight and Goodbye...” she waved while entering the front gate. “Goodnight ...Bye” I wanted to say see you again but something held me back.
“It is 12.30, and you are with your very own Love Guru.....” radio was still giving me company on my way back. “Today we will discuss the amazing experience of love at first sight...”

Hangover 2

 (refer previous post for part1)

“I don’t wanna trouble you any more”, she softly said while zipping her bag. “Don’t be silly. Its midnight and not very safe here”, I took a position of a guardian. “Really.....how can I be safe with you?” , she looked in my eyes for the first time. Boy...she was looking stunning with a slight mascara on her brown eyes . “Well....”, for once the hangover seemed over, “ I only have vegetable diet on Tuesdays, so it’s your lucky day” I thought calling myself vegetarian would be a crime. “Haha.....” she broke into laughter. The line had worked it seemed. “So should we leave, I am feeling scared now myself”, I was coming in form now. She smiled and nodded.
“Where do you stay”, she shot the question as soon as I started the car. “Sec 15”, it was the time to come clean. “I never knew that is so near to sec 52” she said with a dash of sarcasm. “Well, it is not. I am staying tonight at friend’s place at 56” , I was ready for this one. “Friend or girl friend....” she asked while looking at her watch. “I don’t have any girl friend. I mean I broke up last year”, I don’t know why I gave that unnecessary explanation. “Oouch....” she said while raising her eye brows. I understood a new concept of driving a car with an eye, while other was constantly watching her.
“By the way, I am Karan.....Karan Bedi”, I said while thinking how James Bond would introduce. “Latika Sharma”, she said while fiddling with her hair. “Interesting name” very cliché but mostly works. “Thanks..” it did. “So what you do Latika. Must be in college” girls prefer if you call them younger than their age. “Nice try....but I work with Sun Infosystems  at Cyber Park” she said with a smile, “What do you do”. “ I work with Bullshit”, I said proudly. “Wow....” she couldn’t control her laugh. “Bullshit is name of my company, its an Ad agency” for once I didn’t enjoy her laugh so much. “Ok... I am sorry”, her sustained laugh didn’t reflect her apology. “Do you often come so late” I asked while taking a right turn. “No, usually not. I missed the Office cab today. The auto I hired broke on the way...and then met with that...bastard” she brought her pink comb out of her bag. I chose to be silent for a moment to watch her playing with her long tresses.
I switched on the radio “Abhi na jayo chhod ke, Dil abhi bhara Nahi..” it almost gave words to my feelings. “Take the next left, 3rd house” she almost ordered. I thought the roads had cramped tonight. “Just drop me here” I stopped the car. “It was nice meeting you” I wanted the conversation to last longer. “Same here” she opened the door...

Hangover...

It was 11.15 at night. I was driving back home after attending an office get together. The night had just got younger, roads were getting nude. I was humming an old Mohd Rafi song while shaking my head like Rajesh Khanna. The scotch had started showing its impact. “Helpp……” a loud cry came from the other side of the road.
I stopped the car in anticipation. It was 20 something girl in black top almost fist fighting a teenage boy who was trying to snatch something out of her hands. Don’t know what struck me but before I knew, I jumped out of the car and was standing beside the “pretty girl”. She must be around 22 and looked like an IT executive. Just as I was gazing at her long hair, she cried again, “he is trying to steal me…bastard…”
“Hey, you want to have trouble” I grabbed his dirty collar. “Chal na, shhana mat ban”, he tried to push me back. I slapped him as tightly as I could. The boy fell on ground. I was surprised at my skills. Whether it was the effect of “Ghayal” that I watched last night or scotch had finally taken over me…..I thought a bit of both. Anyways the lad got up and ran away while mouthing some nice adjectives…
Just as I turned back the girl was getting her stuff back in the bag and counting if she had lost anything. The breeze was just flirting with her hair which would fall repeatedly on her face. She will push them behind ears before completing her rituals. 5’4’’, toned, black top, blue jeans, red scarf around the neck.  “Thanks…..for saving me” her sweet voice interrupted my observation. It’s my pleasure…. is what I  wanted to say but thought it would be inappropriate, “You are Welcome. Where you need to reach”. “It is sector 52A”. “I am going the same side, let me drop you”, I said as I tried to remember which side sector 52 might be……….
